My kits are fed on high quality kibble mainly, but do get pet mince once/twice a week. With the kibble we just keep it permanently available and topped up. So they eat as much as they like. Is this ok, or will they get fat? Still only 10 weeks old.
I would keep it readily available, ferrets have a super fast metabolism so giving them set meal times is no good and can actually be dangerous for them. There’s no harm in letting the food run low before replacing it as kibble manufacturers have a set amount of time the kibble can be kept in the bowl before it needs replaced, I think it’s normally about two days.
Ok great. That makes it easier.
Welcome to the forum. Kits should be fed as much as they will eat of a varied diet if possible. They are absolutely voracious and a well fed kit is a happy one who is a lot less likely to bite you. We need photos please
We’ve just taken on three new additions.
As much raw meat as possible whilst growing!!! Ours have mince and lactose free milk and also day old chicks.
